Image Credit: Turkish Airlines<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dubai: Turkish Airlines, Turkey\u2019s national carrier, has announced plans to launch flights to Sydney, Australia\u2019s largest city, marking its second destination after Melbourne. Starting December 4, the airline will operate four weekly flights between Istanbul and Sydney, with a stopover in Kuala Lumpur. The route will be serviced by Airbus A350-900 aircraft, the airline announced on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis new route not only strengthens Turkish Airlines\u2019 presence in the continent within its network but also continues to bolster ties between T\u00fcrkiye and Australia, driving growth in tourism, trade, and cultural exchange,\u201d the airline said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines, said, \u201cThis new route not only enhances our flight network but also reaffirms our commitment to our presence in Australia as we connect our guests to new opportunities and experiences with the comfort and hospitality of Turkish Airlines.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Australian Minister for Jobs and Tourism, John Graham, stated that the NSW government has worked closely with Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the new development, the Australian Minister for Jobs and Tourism, John Graham, said that the NSW government has worked closely with the Sydney Airport and Turkish Airlines to secure the new service. \u201cI am thrilled that Turkish Airlines is touching down in Sydney for the first time, providing European travellers with direct access to our state\u2019s world-class visitor experiences. Sydney is the gateway to Australia, and supporting this new route holds enormous potential for the growth of the state\u2019s visitor economy,\u201d said Graham.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Scott Charlton, CEO of Sydney Airport, said, \u201cThis announcement of direct flights marks a significant milestone for travel to Europe, offering passengers seamless access to hundreds of destinations from Turkish Airlines\u2019 Istanbul hub.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith more than 15,000 Turkish-born Australians in New South Wales and T\u00fcrkiye consistently rated as one of the top destinations for Australian travellers, we\u2019re confident this service will be strongly supported,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The airline said passengers from the MENA region can enhance their journey through Istanbul with services such as \u2018Stopover Istanbul\u2019\u2014which offers a free hotel stay for layovers of 20 hours or more\u2014or \u201cTourIstanbul,\u201d which provides free guided tours of Istanbul\u2019s iconic landmarks for layovers between 6 and 24 hours<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This marks Turkey\u2019s second destination in Australia after Melbourne The Istanbul-Sydney flights will be served by Airbus&#8217; A350 aircraft.
